Following on from our fundraising last year to build a well in Uganda, we have just heard this week that a suitable location has been found and work has started on drilling for water. The well is located in a slum south of Kampala. This is a poor area where people collect water from a muddy pond some distance away. Please pray for this community and for the drillers and we seek to bless them with the gift of clean and safe water.

As a principle 10% of the church’s annual income is given to mission causes. We try to develop a long term relationship with the missions we support and to keep the list of missions short, as we believe it is better to give a larger amount to a smaller number of missions to make the most impact. We also aim to keep a balance between different mission causes and local and international missions, the persecuted church and evangelistic missions. We have recently concentrated our giving on smaller number of organisations, ranging from local to international, including some with which members have a personal contact.

These are the organisations we support (in alphabetical order):

• Baptist, Church of England and Methodist Missionary Societies

• Betel

• Christian Motorcyclist Association

• Derby City Mission

• Feba Radio

• Happy Hens

• Illuminate

• Kids Aid Tanzania

• Mission Aviation Fellowship
